Hot take: Tim Farron resigning as leader of the Liberal Democrats

Or, an American types a few words about British politics, g-d help us all.

Farron, the leader of the Liberal Democrats, the fourth largest party in the British parliament since 2015, announced his resignation as leader ostensibly because he can't be a politician and a devout Christian at the same time.

Tim Farron resigned because he thinks two gay people having relations of a sexual nature (or just being, you know, gay) is icky gross. Man claims to be a liberal and was the leader of a left of center party and somehow, support for the queer community flew past him. I mean, he literally thinks that members and supporters of his own party are living a sinful life because they're not heterosexual.

I'm American, so my opinion on this doesn't matter much (at all, really), but I'd say replacing Farron is the best move the Lib Dems can make at this point.
